NO Alcohol is permitted on Club Grounds. Possession

or consumption of alcohol on the grounds is reason for

suspension from the club.

 

Membership Cards

Cards are to be turned in when entering and will be returned when leaving the pool area.  Replacement Cards are $5.00 each. 

 

Late Night Swimming

Late Night Swims will be posted at the pool office.  Late night swim dates are subject to change.  (Snack bar will be open 7:30pm to 9:45pm)

 

Pool Closing

Valley Brook will close early on social event dates, and at 5:00PM for home swim meets. (Swim meet dates are posted at the pool.)

Swimming Instructions

Group Lessons:  Check website or with manager for updates on the availability of group lessons.

 

Individual Lessons: $10 per half- hour lesson payable after each lesson. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of appointment. The Pool Manager will handle all individual private swim lessons.

 

Tennis Rules

Reservations: Tennis reservations can be made in person in the book at the pool office or by phone. Reservations are on a “first-come, first served” basis and are limited to one hour for singles and two hours for doubles. An additional one-hour of court time may be reserved for a challenge match per the posted schedules. All sessions start and end on the hour. The tennis reservations must include the names of all players. Any member may use unreserved courts at any time, but all players must sign in at the office before playing. Reservations can be made for only one court at a time. Future reservations can only be for one court.

 

Junior Members (16 & under): Tennis Clinic June 14 and last about seven weeks. There will be three clinics per week (with make-up day if needed) as well as weekly matches. Preferences will be granted to adults for use of tennis after 5:00P.M. Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. No reservations for these times will be taken for Junior Members. Junior members playing with a parent are considered an adult for playing purposes; reservations, however must be made by the parent. Junior members may not participate in Rotation Tennis. Junior members may sign up for any empty, unreserved court during “ Adult Only” hours, but such sign up may be no earlier that 10 minutes before playing time.

 

Tennis Shoes: All persons using the tennis courts must wear flat-soled tennis court shoes. No Street or running shoes, please.

 

Rotation Tennis: Rotation tennis is for member’s post- high school and over.

 

Men’s Rotation: May 1 to October 31

Saturday mornings, 9:00 until Noon, Courts 4 and 5

 

Ladies Rotation: Mondays and Wednesday mornings, 10:00 until noon, Tuesday evenings, 7:00 to 9:30P.M. on Courts 1 and 2.

Tennis Guest Policy: Guests must be registered and paid for prior to playing.  Paid guest are welcome to play at the Valley Brook tennis facility as long as an active member is present.

 

 

Tennis Lessons: Group Lessons will be posted on the Bulletin Board. Members taking private lessons are responsible for making court reservations and financial arrangements with the Instructor.

 

Off-Season Rules: Courts are on a “first-come, first-served” basis, and will change on the hour. Please do not start at odd times, as you may be asked to leave on the hour regardless of how long you have played.

 

Club Guest Policy and Rates

Members must pay an admission fee for each of their guests. Members must register and accompany their guest(s) during the visit, and will be held responsible for their conduct.

 

A $25.00 fine per incident will be levied to the member bringing in a guest without signing in and paying for their guest

 

 

 

During crowded conditions, and at the discretion of the Club Manager, guests may be limited.

 

Non-members, residing in the immediate area (i.e., those with a Pittsburgh address) will not be permitted guest privileges to Valley Brook pool facilities more often than once a week, limited to a maximum of five visits per season.

 

Children of members, under 15 years old, must have written permission from their parents before the child may admit a guest.

 

Admission Fee: An admission fee entitles the guest to all Club facilities and includes “in and out” privileges for the day.

 

Each admission fee will admit only one adult or one child. Guests under one year old are free.

 

Rates: Cash- $6.00 per guest on weekends and holidays or $5.00 per guest on weekdays.

 

Guest Tickets- Each admission fee can be satisfied with a pre-paid guest ticket. A Book of 10 guest tickets may be purchased at the Pool Office for $40.00. Guest tickets purchased during previous seasons will be honored.

 

Visiting Family Pass- A pass for out-of-town houseguests visiting a Club member can be purchased for $25.00. See the Club Manager for details.

 

 

Club Rules and Regulations

The following Rules and Regulations are for the protection and benefit of all individuals. These rules have been established to assure safe and sanitary operation of the club facilities.

 

Parents are especially requested to caution their children to observe all rules and obey all instructions of the Club Manager and staff. Failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for cancellation of membership. Your wholehearted cooperation is solicited.

 

1.        Every member must register each day he or she uses the pool facilities.

2.        Children 11 years of age and under MUST be accompanied by a responsible person 15 and over, except when participating in individual or group instruction.  The Club Manager has the right to require adult supervision of any child.

3.        Any activity, which is hazardous to anyone on the Club premises, will not be tolerated.

4.        Jumping from, or playing on, the retaining wall is not permitted.

5.        NO SMOKING is allowed inside the pool gated area.  Smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the parking lot.

6.        Bathers must leave the pool area during the threat of a storm, i.e. Thunder or Lightning.

7.        No glass of any kind is permitted on premises.

8.        Pets are not allowed at the club.

9.        No squirt guns.

10.     No horseplay will be tolerated- no running, pushing,

        wrestling, etc.

11.     Abusive language or harassment of others will not be

        tolerated.

12.     Food/Beverages are permitted only in the Pavilion. (i.e. behind the bricks or picnic area).

13.     Lounge chairs may not be reserved.

14.     After use, please return chairs or lounges to the original place they were found.

15.     During heavy attendance periods, chaise lounges and straight chairs are reserved for adults (17 years and up) only.

16.     No alcoholic beverages will be sold, brought in, or otherwise consumed on the Club Property, except for the Annual Adult Party.

17.     Scooters, skateboards or skates/rollerblades may not be brought onto or used on Club property.

18.     Members shall drive slowly and carefully on driveway and parking areas. A 15-MPH Speed Limit will be strictly enforced.

19.     Members and guests must use club parking lots. Absolutely no parking is permitted on Callendar Road or any public street.

20.     All bicycle riders shall ride carefully and park their bikes in designated areas.

21.     Motorcycles and motorbikes are permitted on Club property for transportation only; they are restricted to the upper parking lot and may NOT be ridden on pool grounds.

22.     All persons using the pool, tennis or other facilities do so at their own risk. The Club will not be responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damages to personal property in connection with use of club facilities.

23.     The cost of any damage to Club property will be charged to the responsible member.

24.     The tables with umbrellas and picnic tables are for members to eat snacks.  Please do not store belongings.


 

25.     Specific Pool Rules

1.        The primary purpose of the Pool Rules is to insure the safety & health of all members.  Any activity deemed hazardous to participants or others will be immediately halted.

2.        Only children five years & under may use the Baby Pool.  Children in the Baby Pool area MUST have adult supervision!  Baby Pool gates must be kept closed.

3.        No diving or jumping into Baby Pool.

4.        Small toys, toys made of metal and small balls are not permitted in either pool.

5.        No gum chewing in either pool.

6.        Disposable diapers should not be worn in either pool because they fall apart and clog the filters.  Please use cloth diapers with tight fitting plastic pants or “little swimmers”.  Wash hands after changing child’s diaper.

7.        Bathers must shower before entering pool.  Proper swim attire is required.

8.        Anyone with skin abrasions, open sores, rashes, colds, coughs, inflamed eyes, infections, other illness or wearing bandages shall be refused pool admission.

9.        The Club Manager must approve the use of floats, inner tubes, balls and other swimming accessories. Their use may also be restricted during crowded periods.

10.     Arm floats; inner tubes, and floats are not lifesaving devices; their use in the big pool by children will require direct parental or adult supervision.  Any use of flotation devices will be restricted to the shallow end only.

11.     Lifeguard chairs are “Off Limits” to all.  The lifeguard whistle is the law and must be obeyed by everyone!

12.     Adult swims will be 15 minutes on the hour unless the Club Manager or Assistant Manager deems otherwise.  Lap swimmers have the right-of-way.

13.     The pool will be closed for swimming during periods of unseasonable cold temperatures and lightning storms at the discretion of the Manager.

14.     The swimming lap lane is for swimming laps only. Please keep the lane open.

15.     Anyone appearing to show difficulty while swimming will be asked to pass a competency test before entering deep water. Parents may ask any guard to test their child for deep water competency before allowing them to enter deep water. 

16.     All floatation devices are restricted to the shallow end of the pool only.

 

 


 

Specific Diving Board Rules

1.        Parents are not permitted to catch children off the diving board with or without flotation devices.

2.        No flotation devices or goggles permitted on the diving board.

3.        One person on the board at one time.

4.        One bounce on the board per dive.

5.        No diving or jumping toward the side of the pool. Diving or jumping forward only!

6.        Each diver is responsible for the area under the board and may not dive until they are sure the area is clear of swimmers. No one may jump from the board until the preceding person has reached the side.

7.        Catching children off the diving board is not permitted.
